At NJ Cleaning, we’ve always believed that great service starts with great people. As our business has grown over the last few years, so has our team. What started as a small operation has evolved into a company employing around 90 dedicated cleaning professionals, supporting clients across offices, schools, serviced workspaces, industrial facilities, and community organisations.
This continued growth is something we’re incredibly proud of, but with growth comes responsibility. That’s why we’re excited to announce the launch of the NJ Cleaning Academy.
The idea for the academy isn’t new. In fact, it’s something our Managing Director, Neil Johnson, has wanted to create for years. When you’re managing a team of 40 or 50 people, it’s easier to maintain visibility, monitor standards, and ensure everyone is working consistently. As your team grows, maintaining those same standards becomes more challenging.
At NJ Cleaning, we believe that if something needs improving, you don’t talk about it, you invest in fixing it.
Rather than simply discussing quality, we’re making a significant investment in quality. We’ve recently taken on a third office, which will be transformed into the NJ Cleaning Academy.
The academy will provide a dedicated space where we can:
✔ Train new starters thoroughly before they begin working on client sites
✔ Upskill existing team members
✔ Deliver ongoing refresher training
✔ Improve consistency across the business
✔ Build confidence and professionalism throughout our team
Most importantly, it will ensure every member of the NJ Cleaning team understands exactly what good looks like.
The academy won’t be a classroom filled with presentations, it will be a practical training environment designed to replicate real-world cleaning situations.
Training will include:
- Different floor types and surfaces
- Equipment operation and maintenance
- Product knowledge and safe usage
- Cleaning techniques and best practice
- Health and safety procedures
- Quality assessments and competency checks
By creating hands-on learning opportunities, we can ensure every team member develops the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to deliver exceptional results. The ultimate goal of the NJ Cleaning Academy is to have every person who works for NJ Cleaning trained to the same high standard and equipped to consistently deliver the service our clients expect and deserve.
